This publication presents the most current research on the tidal marshes of Long Island, New York, by the region’s leading scientists and environmental law experts. Controversial tidal marsh “restoration and management” strategies and programs, like Open Marsh Water Management (OMWM), are analyzed and discussed. Human and natural impacts on salt marshes are presented as well as benign methods of healing salt marshes from the scars of mosquito ditches.
